2009 KISS
CONCERT!!!
ROCK ON!!!
11/15/2009 KISS came to the Key Arena in
Seattle!We could not miss that
opportunity! We purchased 8 tickets and had our good friends and Ron's
Sister and brother-in-law join us! We reserved a room at the Best
Western Executive Inn just a few blocks from Key Arena and planned a
pre-concert and post-concert party! This worked out well and made
sure there was not any drinking and driving!Of
course you can't go to such an event without getting fully into the
costumes, so in true Milks form we have to "Do it all the way or not
at all!"WIGS We purchased
our wigs right before Halloween at Walmart. These were KISS wigs
that were originally styled to be Gene Simmons style, but since we wanted
to go as Paul Stanley and Tommy Thayer we needed to get the wigs styled
differently. We took the wigs to Rachel McCauley at A Hair Affair in
Walla Walla, and she did a great job with them! Clothes What
to wear? Well, I was at Walmart on 11/13 and happened to find that
Milley Cirus had a black faux leather coat and spandex pants to
match! Some of the pants looked like leather with zippers in the
bottom and another pair had little cuts down the outside of each leg
allowing the leg to be seen. FANTASTIC!!! I looked around some
more and found black t-shirts that said "ROCK ON !!!" and of
course I had to get enough for my girl friends that were going to attend
with us. Now for belts, I found some with metal studs on them that
were great as well. I also purchased some ribbon and some diamond
jewels to add to it so we could have chokers to finish off the
look. We also found some KISS T-shirts for the guys in our
group that may not want to dress down for the event. I
purchased two of the largest leather coats, one of each type of spandex
pant, some metal studded belts for Ron and I. I will wear the ROCK
ON !! T-shirt, and Ron will wear a tank top with his furry chest exposed,
in REAL ROCKER STYLE! Only a REAL man can
pull off wearing Milley Cyrus clothes! You
tell me if Ron looks like the perfect rocker! Man, what a rocker
body he has! LUCKY ME!!! Face
Paint To figure out how we would paint our faces
I spoke with a good friend, Terri Viotti who used to do
"clowning" with her late husband. She was gracious and
offered tips on how to do it and also allowed us to use her grease paints
and kit! So, to make sure we knew what we were up to, Ron and I
practiced applying the paint to 1/2 of our faces on 11/14 as a test run.We
began by drawing lightly the outline of the eyes and lips. Next we
used Steins clown white and a makeup sponge to get close to the
lines. Next we powered the white area using steins powder in a tube
sock, and blew off any places were it was too thick. For Ron we
applied the silver paint from a "KISS make-up pack" that we
purchased at Walmart before Halloween. Thank you Walmart!!! I
painted the silver close to the black line but did not touch it.
Next we powered the silver and blew off excess. To finish the eye I
used steins black grease paint and a fine paintbrush to finish the lines
around his eyes and to fill in his lips. Powder was applied and
blown off. Wah lah!!!!! 11/14/09 Test
